Thea Gill

Born in Vancouver, Canada, Thea graduated with a BFA Honours in Acting from York University in Toronto.

She is, perhaps, best known for her role as Lindsay Peterson on Showtime's popular and groundbreaking television series, QUEER AS FOLK for which she received a 2002 ACTRA Award nomination for Best Actress . As a result of her work on this show, she was also honoured with the 2003 National Leadership Award from the National Gay and Lesbian Task Force and this year with the 2006 Spotlight Award from PFLAG DC.

Other television appearances include lead and support roles in; HOMECOMING, TRUTH, REUNION, ANDROMEDA, TORNADO WARNING, SIGHTINGS: HEARTLAND GHOST, TRIAL OF A SERIAL KILLER, and COMMON GROUND. Thea was awarded the 2002 Golden Sheaf award for Best Actress for her work on BLISS: NINA'S MUSE and the 2005 Leo Award for her work on THE COLLECTOR.

An accomplished stage actress and singer Thea has worked with her theatre director husband, Brian Richmond, on numerous plays for many of the major theatres across Canada including FIRE, ROMEO AND JULIET, UNCLE VANYA, PROOF and TRYING. She has also played Desdemona in OTHELLO, Mary Ann in BETTER LIVING and Frances Farmer in SAINT FRANCES OF HOLLYWOOD. As a singer she entertained audiences from the Mediterranean to the Caribbean aboard the cruise ship, MS Carousel. She has also performed at Toronto's renowned jazz club, Top O' The Senator as well as recording the theme song with Vancouver Symphony's Maestro Bramwell Tovey for the feature film EIGHTEEN.

Thea currently spends her work time traveling between Vancouver and Los Angeles and her rest time in Victoria with her husband, their five cats and their canary.
